Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use StayLedger, a property handover and inventory tool for short-term rentals operated by Godji Tech (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using a stay link, you agree to them.
What StayLedger does
StayLedger lets owners and managers describe a property and its inventory, and lets guests check in, record the condition of the property, report issues and check out. It keeps a timestamped record of each stay.
We are not a booking platform, a party to any rental agreement, an insurer or a dispute resolution service. Bookings, payments, deposits and any disputes about them are between the host and the guest, and the platform they booked through.
Accounts
- Owners and managers need an account and must give accurate details.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for what happens under your account.
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
Guest access
Guests use a stay link and access code from their host, plus a one-time passcode. Do not share your access code with anyone who is not part of your stay.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, notes, inventory lists and other content you add. You give us permission to store and display it so that the service works, including showing a guest’s stay record to the property’s owner or manager.
Owners and managers are responsible for having the right to share the guest details they enter, and for letting guests know that StayLedger is used to record the stay.
Acceptable use
- Record things honestly. Do not submit false, misleading or altered evidence.
- Do not upload unlawful content or content that invades someone’s privacy.
- Do not try to access properties, stays or accounts that are not yours.
- Do not disrupt the service or try to get around its security.
Records are not a ruling
StayLedger records what each person submitted and when. We do not check that entries are accurate, and a record is not a decision about who is responsible for loss or damage.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may change or discontinue features, and we will give reasonable notice of changes that materially affect you.
Suspension and closing an account
You can stop using StayLedger at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users at risk.
Liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from a dispute between a host and a guest. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update the date above. Continuing to use StayLedger after a change means you accept the updated terms.
